Emma 1884

This 24"x36"  original art piece was designed to hang in the Yokohama International Quilt Exposition in Japan, November 2000.  It was part of a display depicting the clothing of American women in the 1800's.  The pattern was shown in an 1884 catalog and since my grandmother, Emma, was born in 1884, I decided to name the piece, "Emma 1884".  This is my first piece incorporating people and landscapes and is heavily machine quilted with rayon sulky threads.
